Roving solar panels
« on: August 22 2019, 21:23 »
Hi

I fancy the idea of roving solar panels that I can deploy in different parts of the boat depending on prevailing circumstances.

I can't come up with a suitable method of connecting the cables through the deck in a tidy and watertight manner.

The standard solar panel plugs a sockets look a bit flimsy to me to be constantly plugged and unplugged and would leave a 'tail' dangling when nothing was plugged into it.

Any ideas, or links to decent sized waterproof thru hull electrical connectors?

Thanks

Mark

Deck plugs made by Bulgin will do the job. For more permanent through deck glands those made by Scanstrut are commonly used.
