Fixed 3-blade aluminium alloy, Volvo (dia x pitch) 17 x 15 L Part No 21381279

This is for the MD22L-B (50 HP) with the 120S-E Saildrive. Different saildrives have different transmission ratios, if you have the same combination of engine and saildrive, this is the correct propeller. I believe your boat has the same hull as our 40 Ocean.

Mine is folding, blade P/N 3581227.

Base on Google it looks like the propeller is 17x12 LH, Calling Volvo with P/N should clarify this.

B40, vintage 2001, engine MD22L-B, drive 120S-E, 2.20 printed on label so i guess this is the ratio.

Hope this helps.

It is worth noting that fixed and folding or feathering propellers are often different sizes in the same boat/engine/drive combination. For example my B33 came from the factory with a fixed 2 blade 16*13. The 2 blade folding FlexoFold is 16*11.

Equally the same engine/drive combination in different boats can have different sizes, particularly if there is a significant difference in displacement.

In a sense it does not matter what the size is if the boat achieves its maximum hull speed in flat water at close to maximum rated rpm as that is the main objective when calculating the size.

 :D Thankyou for all answers.
As all my infos coincide with Ingmar's boat regarding engine and drive unit I'll stick  to Prop size 17/15
All I have to solve now is why it starts tremblin when it reaches 1900 rpm...

I have a 38 ocean CC which had an identical leak. I went through the usual suspects, portlights, stanchions. But the leak was still there, bad as ever. Every time it rained there would be water collecting in the port side storage next to the water tank. The leak was at the port side, aft hull/deck joint, which is accessed by removing the teak rub rail. It was obvious where the leak was due to insufficient sealant from the factory, but dry as a bone after applying a bead of sealant.

Replying to this old thread to correct some info from my last post to this thread.

During discussion in another thread http://bavariayacht.org/forum/index.php/topic,2719.0.html I actually measured my propeller using templates and did the calculations with app from https://sites.google.com/site/thepropellerhub/simple-pitch-measuring

Drums.... Our propeller was actually 18x15. The measurement and calculations resulted on pitch of 14.977 so 15 is quite probable number for the pitch.
